Hello Lovelies!
I'm finally getting around to writing a review for my first Ipsy Glam Bag! If you've never heard of Ipsy, it's a monthly beauty subscription service, where you receive a reusable bag with 4 or 5 beauty related products inside for $10. I was so excited to finally be off the waitlist and receive a bag! A few days before you receive your bag, you can look at your profile and see what's coming your way. I didn't peak because that takes away some of the fun for me. I'd rather be surprised when my products arrive!
Above is a picture of my first Glam Bag. You can see my bag on the left and the products that came inside it listed out to the right. The theme for August was Beauty Schooled. Fittingly, the bag was a soft plastic like zippered pencil case design. Now for the products:
- Urban Decay Perversion Mascara: Decent sample size, good product. It isn't an amazing mascara but would be good for traveling or just a spare in your purse. It isn't waterproof so it doesn't hold my curl very long but worth a try.
- Coastal Scents Forever Blush Sample Duo: Tiny sample size, hard to fit a blush brush into the product. The product itself is nice though. Good pigmentation, a tiny bit of shimmer, great shades for most any skin tone.
- Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Conditioner: This smells delicious! Like oranges and ginger! It feels nice on my lips, not greasy or sticky. It moisturizes nicely and tastes/smells fabulous! I think this was my favorite product in my bag!
- Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl Eye Pencil: About a third the size of a normal eyeliner, but okay for a sample size. Rich color payoff, soft and smooth application. I really like this product too, but eyeliner is eyeliner to me.
- Paula's Choice Skincare Clear Ultra Light Daily Moisturizing Fluid SPF 30+: This product did not work for me at all! I had an allergic reaction, bunches of teeny pimple like blisters covered my face, with redness, burning, and itching! I had to go to my dermatologist, use cold compresses, take antihistamines, and apply steroid creams to get that mess to go away! Please don't apply this to your skin ladies especially if you have sensitive skin! It has several chemical sunscreens in it that are known to potentially irritate sensitive skin. Even though the product says "clinically proven non irritating" phrases like this aren't heavily regulated by the FDA and can be use on a product anytime with little to no meaning. Some people have had amazing results with this product, but I am not one of them! Patch test first ladies!
Overall, I thought the products in my bag seemed well tailored to my profile preferences. The sample sizes were decent, no foil packets at least. I'm looking forward to my next bag! I'll let you know how it goes!
